Hello, any help would be appreciated.

 

I purchased a Linkstation Quad LS-Q4.0TL/R5. It is configured as RAID 10 and is connected into my network via a 5 port Linksys Gigabit switch. I have a 1T TerraStation that runs perfectly through the same switch.

 

When copying large amounts of Data (more than 2 minutes worth) the lights on the LinkStation Quad stop blinking. After a long pause, (30 seconds +) it appears to do a maintenance routine. The lights blink in this order:

Drive one - pause

Drive one and two - pause

Drive two and three - pause

Drive three and four - pause

Drive four - pause

All lights go off for about 2 seconds

All lights turn on and after about 10 seconds it again begins receiving data and copying to disk.

This repeats every two to five minutes.

Eventually, something times out, the copy stops and I get a "network drive not found" error.

 

Small/short writes appear fine.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Please Flash the firmware to the latest version and then set the unit back to factory defaults under maintenance.  This will not cause data loss, however it will wipe out your user configurations.  This will force the unit to boot off of the new firmware installed.

Returned it to store at lunch for replacement. New drive installed perfectly.

   

I have the current problem with vers 2.04 on my LS-QL/R5 4TB.  I just checked and a new version of 2.05 is avaialble so I will do the upgrade to see if it continues. 

 

On another note:  what is the different from 2.04 to 2.05?
