Title: Folder Security
Post by: erudit on July 04, 2012, 04:08:09 PM

Good Evening guys,

We have a client with the Buffalo Terastation Pro TS-WVHL, which requires permissions on sub directories eg

Company Data(Access To All)

|

|___

Managers(Access to Managers & Directors only)

|

|____ Directors(Directors only

Is this possible with any of the tera station products?

Thanks in advance,

Matt @ Erud IT

you cannot set sub folder permissions on this unit, permissions can only be set on the root share via the web admin page. Any folders / sub files will inherit the permissions from the parent share.

Hello fortini68.  Unfortunately I have no answer to your question because I have the exact same question regarding the exact same model TeraStation as you - TS-RX4.OTL/R5.  I would like to secure the subfolders on it and can't find a way to do it.  If you got an answer in another forum could you please share with me?
