Title: H.264 support for Twonky and Xbox 360
Post by: lincoln316 on May 26, 2012, 01:20:29 PM

I have the LS-CH1.0TL-V2 with 1.58 firmware that comes with Twonky Version 4.4.19_e2

Trying to get H.264 mp4 files to stream on the Xbox 360 but they won't show up.

I know the Xbox 360 can play H.264 codec mp4 files as I can play these videos off a USB drive. I know that Twonky can recognise them. When I log into http://linkstation:9050 and browse the twonkyvision, I can see and even play the H.264 videos there. But with the Xbox and Twonky working togethor it does not seem to work.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a known problem?

I used to wonder the same.

If you rename the file so its got a avi extention instead of mp4, it should show up and play without any problems

You can never compair playing files off a usb drive to DLNA. Just convert the files or change the extension like kineticonline says.

Why not? Playing files off USB eliminates the problem of the Xbox not supporting the file type and codec.

But changing the file extension works so that will do for the moment.
