Title: Issues with Flexnet LAN mode and Windows XP
Post by: tebucky on January 24, 2009, 09:32:41 AM

I just picked up a 640gb flexnet drive station.  I went through the install process without issue, I can access the web admin panel and my macbook can see it on the network and access the drive without any problem.  My Windows box can see the drive but I cannot access it from there (permissions issue).  And when I run the shortcut thats placed on my desktop after install, it doesn't let me access the drive.

Any ideas?

Also, I'm able to access the drive on a window xp VM that I have running on my mac without issue.  I've turned off my firewall to and still can't map it or acess it via the windows box that I set it up on.  Again, I can read and write to it from the macbook (and can get to the admin panel no problem).

Eh, boot it into safe mode w/networking and try again. If not make sure all your networking and file sharing services are enabled.

So I'm still getting permission errors both from my Windows XP box and my macbook.  I can see the drive on the LAN but I can't access it (windoes denies access outright and my macbook is prompting me for a log in but I don't have one set up).

It works just fine as a USB device and when I share the drive that way I can get to it without a hitch.

Please help, I'm on the verge of returning it :-(
