Title: LinkStation Duo LS-WX2.0TL/R1
Post by: tsmcink on May 10, 2012, 08:41:16 AM

I have updated the firmware and was getting an E30 Error, stating that there was an Error on Disk 1.  Backed up the data and rebuilt the Array.  Worked fine for a day or so, then the E30 has shown up again, stating the same thing.  So, I figure that I may have a problem on disk 1.  Now, if I need to replace the drive, I might as well upgrade.  Thinking of 2 2TBs, to give double the space.  Now, I can't find a HDD compatibility list for this device.  Part of the reason I purchased it was to expand, and upgrade at some point.  Is there a place to find specs or compatibility information?

Thanks everyone for all the responses.  I sent an email to Buffalo, and the response I got was that they don't support replacing the drives, but any SATA with 7200rpm and 32MB cache would be fine.  Isn't one of the features of this LinkStation, it's ability to swap drives?  Interesting.

I did delete the array, and then formatted disk 1, and rebuilt the array.  Worked great.  Then overnight, the E30 is showing up again.  Any ideas on a troubleshoot for this E30 error.  If a disk has an issue, shouldn't it show up immediately?

Hi, same thing happening to me, after a short time it errors again like yours, strange things is it says disk 2 error but its in raid 0 but all data ok??

Is it the HDD or is it the box itself!?

Did you find a solution as searching on here for E30 there seems to be no answers for it and not much info, also no one has answered your messgae yet!

Cheers

backup your data, upgrade to the latest 1.64 FW, reset the unit via the gui and see if the error is still pressent. Again, backup your data before doing this.

Hi Davo, thanks for the reply,

I had an issue with the shares failing a few weeks ago and reformated drives, latest FW is on it, but rebuilt as raid 0 this time but again after a week E30 come up this time, cannot work out whats is wrong with it.

Surely it cannot be the HDD as when array rebuilt it works for a while and my data is still working!

Cheers

And have you reset it via the GUI?
