CS-WX timestamp problem
« on: January 21, 2013, 08:39:02 PM »

I have a CS-WX drive I bought a year ago.  Have not used it since then because of the fact that it was altering the timestamp info of all of the files I copied to it.  i.e. replaces the original timestamp with the time and date of coping.  I called up for support and was given a case number and told someone would call me back... that was about 1 year ago and I am still waiting for a call.  Also I saw several other posts on-line from others complaining about this issue, and no apparant solution.  What is going on with this?  Is this problem ever going to be fixed?  The drive is useless to me if it does not preserve the time and date of all my photos and videos.

David,

Not sure if this is waaay too late for you, but in case you happened to still have the unit...  This is how I just fixed the same issue.

If the unit is running the most current firmware, then do a hard reset of the unit.  (If not, then update the firmware first)
1.  Turn it off.
2.  Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, keep holding the button and flip the switch to "on".
3.  Once the function light is on, release the function button and press it again for 1 second.

At this point, the power and function lights will be flashing back and fourth - the unit is reseting.  This will not effect your data or user configuration other than the IP address, which will be reobtained from DHCP and the device password, which be reset to "password".

Don't ask me why this fixed a timestamp issue, but it did for me.

Cheers,

Tom
