RAID is not a replacement for a backup! Here's why.
Hi,
at a German online shop called ALTERNATE I bought a 32 GB Solid State Disk from Buffalo:
http://www.alternate.de/html/product/Solid_State_Drive_2,5_Zoll_SATA/Buffalo/Solid-State_Disk_2,5_32_GB/365787/?tn=HARDWARE&l1=Festplatten&l2=Solid+State+Drive&l3=SATA
In the product description they told me:
"Der integrierte Mini-USB-Port erlaubt ein einfaches Upgraden der Firmware"
that means:
"The Mini-USB-Port can be used to upgrade the firmware"
So the SSD was shipped to me. First of all I had a look at the Buffalo Website to look for a new Firmware.I was not able to find the product:
"Buffalo Solid-State Disk 2,5" 32 GB"
Is the Buffalo Solid-State Disk 2,5" 32 GB a real product from Buffalo? Where can I find new Firmware?

Buffalo USA does not have any Solid State Disks for sale, but as for Buffalo Europe I found a 64GB and 100GB at the link: http://www.buffalo-technology.com/products/external-drives/microstation/shd-uhrgs-microstation-portable-ssd/ Possibly the 32GB was a discontinued capacity. It looks like the last firmware update was 8/26/2008, so I'm not sure what good that will do you. If it's not broken, don't fix it
