Hi guys.. Current ram im using is  FSX1066D2C-K4G (EU) im guessing the EU stands for the location the ram was shipped too or made, After putting memory in originally with all timings on auto and CPU at stock speed the memory showed to be running at 800mhz, Iv set the timings to 5 5 5 18 As stated on the box, changed Vdim to 2.1v and manualy overclocked to 1066mhz, Computer boots up so i ran memtest for windows 16 errors in 3 min,

Everest shows the memory as being PC2-6400 as does CPU-z and memset , does this mean iv been bumped and paid for 1066mhz ram and got 800mhz ram ?

Thought id message you guys b4 i stormed back into the shop :)

CPU is E8600

MOtherboard is DFI P45-t2rs  (latest bios which supports the current ram)

Thanx kris

Hello djwarden

Is your CPC set for 2T timing?

Have you tried one stick at a time to see if one stick is weaker than the other?

the memory is set to 800MHz and it's up to the enduser to provide the OC setting as not all motherboards will boot, if the memory is set to 1066MHz.

2.1V is a suggested setting for most boards - your board may take 2.15 or 2.2 to achieve 1066 with various memory. As long as you have airflow in the memory area, and you verify the memory isn't getting too hot too hold your fingers on the FireStix spreaders, then a little extra Vdimm should be fine.
