RAID is not a replacement for a backup! Here's why.
Power outage, lost boot image.
Forced firmware update to 1.43, NASNavi can see the drive however not accessible.
Try to access web access to reinitialize, username password incorrect.
Try manual reset dance for password no luck.
Most likely you still have access to the data, do backup first.
My solution was not to shut down the unit properly, just unplug the power. Id did several times until the unit was in EM mode. Now a firmware update and all should be fine. Maybe the support has a more gentle way- I do not know....
I don't know how to back up my data when the unit is unresponsive,
NASNavi can identify the unit on the network but can not access it, any other means normally done to access it respond with a path error.
In this case the unit might be in Emergency mode. Indicator would be the description in NAS NAvigator and "EM" in the name.
If this is the case do a firmware update. Your last update might have failed.
Nothing in the NASNavi indicating that the unit is in EM mode.
Nothing during the firmware update would indicate that the firmware failed to update. The unit says that it is running the current 1.43 the version I updated to.
nothing has worked, tried to reflash the firmware and it is still unresponsive.
how do i go abouts getting an RMA?
It might not be an issue that needs an RMA Raymode. Call your local support and they may have a fix for you. Mention that the unit shows up as normal after performing a firmware flash from emergency mode but now you cannot access anything even if you reset the unit. They should know what to do. If they cannot help you then they will issue you an RMA if you are within the warranty period.
As I said - if you manage to get the unit in EM mode it will work. Contacting support at this stage might be a good idea.
