I have a WHR-HP-G300N(B), with User Friendly Firmware Ver.1.82 (R1.12/B1.00). The processor chipset is A0 A1. I have a wimax broadband connection. I have bought this router in India. I have 2 problems:-
1. When I try to install the DD-WRT firmware from http://buffalotech.com/support/getfile/whrhpg300n-pro-v24sp2-14998.zip, I get error "Invalid Firmware, Rebooting in 80 seconds".
2. There is a problem with frequent connection drops and high latency which was not there with my previous D-Link 802.11G router. When transfering files from file hosting servers such as letitbit.com, rapidshare.com etc this is a big pain since everytime the whole download needs to be restarted.
Thanks in advance,
AlphaKappa
Use firefox or internet explorer to update your firmware. You must extract the contents of the zip folder and the select the firmware update.
Hi there,
I'm a new owner of WHR-HP-G300N and have the same reported issue.
1) I did unzip and read through the HTML howto... followed it and got Invalid Firmware Error
2) The file I downloaded was ftp://whr-hp-g300n:whr-hp-g300n@83.244.133.35/WHR-HP-G300N-pro_dd-wrt_v24sp2-14998.zip
3) MODEL: WHR-HP-G300N Ver.1.82 (R1.12/B1.00)
4) ISP provides Motorola Cable Modem SB5100
Please let me know what other information you require to help me figure this out. Thank you.
Quick update, I found a newer Pro firmware build 15501 via the Buffalo support site. Will try it out and report back.
Where? I don't see any new Pro firmware.
Edit: Oh, I found it, is in the Asian support site. Has anyone tried to flash this in the North American version of the router?
