Really FAT or NFTS?
« on: June 08, 2009, 01:34:35 PM »
My DriveStation HD-CEU2 is attached to the USB port on my wireless Linksys router.  When I open the router's web page and look at storage, it shows the DriveStation as a FAT file system.  However, when I click on the network drive using Vista Explorer, it shows it as a NTFS file system.  Is there another way to detemine what the file system is?  This is a new device, and I did not format it to NTFS, but then, I bought it from a retail store that might have restocked it.

The drive comes pre-formatted in FAT32. Try attaching it to you're computer and checking your disk check utility.

Thanks for the reply.  I attached the DriveStation directly to the laptop and it showed it as FAT.  I then reformated it to NTFS.  Now I entered the world of Linsksys (WRT610N) not recognizing NTFS on their USB storage port.

Another somewhat related question, does anyone know how to tell which version of firmware is on the router?

You would have to contact lynksys for that information
