WZR-HP-G300NH v1 as a wireless bridge
« on: March 08, 2015, 11:50:06 PM »
I have a WZR-HP-G300NH v1 and it is the heart of my home network. I have been using the "user-friendly" firmware forever. Now I need a wireless client bridge and I would like to use the WZR-HP-G300NH v1 for this task.

I found a menu item on my WZR-HP-G300NH "WDS" but the GUI leads me to believe that this feature is for ues with a pair of Airstations. I don't think that my network is going to be an "all Airstation" network so this might not be a good idea.

Would it be better to use the professional firmware instead of the "user friendly" firmware?

I realize that it would be better to man up and just try these things by myself. But I am about to spend some real money on new networking gear, and understanding what my WZR-HP-G300NH is capable of would help me to choose the new gear.

Install the DDWRT firmware and configure it as a client bridge.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
