hi,
since this afternoon, i have this problem...
i don't see anything in nas navigator
i didn't manage to go EM mode
anyone to help ?
regards
You need to get the unti replaced. Its a defective unit.
disk is dead or nas is dead ?
The nas. The disk should be fine.
will contact support tomorow, hope he take in in waranty
I was happy of the product for more than one year ... but i'm not happy of the customer service at all :-(
i've bought a linkstation live 1 TB (LS-CH1.0TL) with bittorent in december 2008, but because the proof of purchase was on a thermic ticket, it's now blank. I've tried to explain that this model wasn't sold in france before october 2008, thus less than 2 years, so the warranty should apply... but no way to deal, need a proof of purchase... i'm sure the serial number could even show it wasn't built before !
if someone without only procedure in mind could help ...
regards
This forum is for US devices so if you need an RMA for a device bought in Europe then you will have to contact european support.
As for the faded receipt, there is no way around this, maybe get the retailer to reissue you a new receipt?
sorry to say that, but it is a little crazy : the item wasn't existing 2 years ago .... thus it is less than 2 years
Regardless, per the warranty a proof of purchase needs to be provided to substantiate the RMA. I'm sorry if this causes an inconvenience.
Hi everyone, hi fbp,
Same problem, same harddisk and same country.
I guess we found the lifetime of this hard-drive: yours lived 20 months, mine too.
I called the helpdesk and the have no solution but changing the device.
I have two possibilities as they told me:
I try to repair my disk and I lose the warranty (and no certainty to be succesful)
I send my HD to Buffalo and they send me a new one, and I lose all my data.
I just lost 850Gb of data.................
Do I have any chance to find my data back if I try to have it repaired?
Or sending my HD to Buffalo is the best possibility?
Thanks and regards
Nst, if you are still within warranty then you can get an advanced rma from buffalo and you can swap the hard drives to recover your data.
Hi thanks for your answer,
Not sure I understood well all what you say.
Anyway I cannot swap the hard drives as they will keep my old drive.
No, if you are still within warranty and you ask for an advanced replacement, they will send you a unit first. With the unit they send you, you can swap the drive from your old unit into the new unit and send them back the old case with the new hard drive. You should be able to get to your data this way.
waoo nice,
I am just afraid they provide this service just for the states. The guy did not propose it to me this morning. I told him I was desperate to lose all my data.
I'll try to call them back tomorrow. Thx.
What country are you in?
I am in France.
The service will probably be the same all around europe. They provide me with a fax number from Ireland to send all the papers.
Im not sure but hopefully they have that option so you can swap the drives. Good luck.
Yes I'll try to be confident....
Thanks for your help!
