Wireless WHR-G54S

using HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop with Vista Home edition w/blue tooth

Buffalo wireless # 74074374110134

1.  Set up went fine but can not get browser to open. Show link to router. Am stumped, Please help

 

2.  Can't secure link for private

1. Are you using ethernet connection to the router from your laptop or using wireless?

For setup, make sure its a direct connection by ethernet cable from laptop to router.

  

2. If you want a secure link, you can setup wireless security by going into the web console and setup WEP/WPA. Another way is to setup AOSS by pressing the top button and connecting it with your laptop's wireless.

 

3. Pls make sure you can surf the internet first before you carry on with the wireless security setup.

Roadawg,

Hard wire the router into your laptop.  Then open up a web browser and in the address bar, Type in 192.168.11.1 and hit enter, it will prompt you for a  username/password.  User name is root, and there is no password.  Hit enter.  IF you have DSL configure it too PPPOE.  If you are using Cable then use DHCP.  To put security on it you can use WEP or TKIP.  TKIP is 8 or more characters and WEP64 is 5 characters only.  Make sure that you apply it all and let it refresh.  Then do a power cycle on the router.
