: How to set up FTP on LS Mini?

Once again, dear advanced, I failed my attempt to set up ftp on LinkStation Mini.

 

I enable the share folder FTP support. And in the share folder service setup enable FTP server.

 

I can do remote access using BuffaloNAS.com. And I forward port 9000 on the modem to LS Mini.

 

Do I need to also forward port 21 to LinkStation Mini?

 

Using CoreFTP LE, I keep getting message: " An existing connection was forcefully closed by the remote host."

 

My setup was WinXP, AT&T DSL service. LS Mini behind the router.

I "borrow" neighbor's wireless router to do the testing...

 

What else am I missing?

Aha. I got it. After changing the dsl modem setting to include port forwarding 21 then everything works.
