: Opening ports problem.
: Livity January 09, 2011, 07:01:55 AM

Hello.

I have been trying to open a game server for game called "minecraft"

So I have to open port 25565 so players can join my server.

My buffalo model is WHR-HP-G54

Here is a link for a quide which I tried: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Buffalo/WHR-HP-G54/Minecraft_Server.htm

After this guide I tested if my port was open, but it wasnt.

So can someone tell me if that guide was made wrong or is there a other way to open this port to make the server.

Thank you in advance.

I've never been able to get ports to open properly on this router either.  There are several other postings descirbing the exact same problem but buffalo refuses to admit there is a problem.  If you find a solution please let me know.

Only solution I found is to throw buffalo to trash and put other kind on. Works great.

and you're sure that the one guide you presented, is providing the correct ports to open? I found several guides.

after opening a port and trying out an application/game, and it isn't working, you should check the error logs in the airstation, and see what port the game is trying to use, to get out. Then adjust the ports to the ones seen in the error logs.

port forwarding works fine on this router, with or without DD-WRT.
