3TB drives in TeraStation H3.0TGL

I have this enclosure I believe from 2007 with the original 4x 750GB drives. I have seriously outgrown the capacity, and want to upgrade (ideally) to 4x 3TB drives. From everything I have read, Buffalo has enforced planned obsolescence and doesn't have new firmware that would make this possible. Is that accurate information? Just want to know before I trash my Terastation and go buy another enclosure.

This unit was not designed to operate with 3TB USB HDDs. So no, it won't work.
