Replace Failed Drive in Terastation HS-DH4.0TGL/R5
« on: May 06, 2009, 07:38:45 PM »

I have a failed drive in my Terastation Live HS-DH4.0TGL/R5 (RAID 5, 1TB Drives).  I have a DriveStation Combo HD-CEIU2 (1TB) that I am not using and don't care about the warranty.  Can I just take the drive out of that one to get this TS back up and running?

I ask because I didn't know if there was anything on the DriveStation HDD like a LinkStation. I didn't want buy another 1TB when I got the cash and find out the DriveStation is bricked.  I assume it's just another run of the mill external drive, but not totally sure.

Any help is appreciated.

Technically, yes but I make no promises that would work.  Proceed at your own risk.
