I have had this LS-L500GL Link Station (Firmware v1.04) for about two years to do a daily backup of up to 3 of my PCs, using the program Second Copy. This copies new or changed files to appropriate folders in "Share", and deletes older files. It also has an Archive folder which keeps a selected number of copies of deleted files before finally deleting them. Unfortunately, the Link Station also has a "Trashbox" which captures all deleted files, but there is no limit to the number of copies kept. Consequently, it does not take long to completely fill the 500GB HDD unless it is manually cleared quite frequently.
I would really like to disable the Trashbox, but have been unable to find a way using Buffalo NAS Navigator. From other items in this Forum I suspect I need to access the Link Station through it's IP address (192.168.1.101), but when I try this using IE8 on either my main PC or my laptop (both running XP with all updates), I get this message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". Turning off the XP firewall makes no difference.
Any help will be appreciated.
