Linkstation HS-DH500GL

My Linkstation HS-DH500GL stopped responding - I usually have it plugged into my wireless router, and access through a mapped drive.

 

I am using a windows Laptop with Windows 7 professional.

 

I downloaded the NAS Navigator and can see from that the linkstation is in EM mode.  It also has an IP address listed of 192.168.11.150.

 

After a bit of searching around I guessed I needed to run a firmware update...

- I plugged it direct into laptop via network cable

- Disabled firewalls

- Turned off internet for good measure

 

This came up with the following message...

 

Could not confirm a response from HS-DHGL-EMC53

please check a network address of both PC and HS-DHGL-EMC53

Please disable the firewall function if it is working on a PC

Updating is aborted

 

I read I might need a forced update, so followed instructions to update the ini, checked the forced update option and tried again, but got the same message.

 

Any suggestions?

What did you put your computer IP address on? And you could try safe mode with networking.

Click Start -> Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network and Sharing Center -> right click the "local Area Connection" -> Properties -> Internet Protocol Version 4 -> Select "Use the following IP address" -> Set the Following:

 

IP Address: 192.168.11.149

Subent Mask: 255.255.255.0

 

Leave the gateway and DNS blank -> OK -> OK.

 

Run the LSUpdater.exe file again.
