When will be released this version dd wrt for wzr-hp-g300nh model?
Jotin wrote:" We are working on releasing firmware for our other DD-WRT routers. I do not have an ETA on the other device's updates."
Now i use14998 build in wzr-hp-g300nh v1 model.I try a few days ago alpha build 17798.This build to me working very bad.Wifi will be very unstable with this build.Have many dropouts in client mode.I waiting long time new stable build with integrated samba in web and maybe transmission will be integrated in new build?
Samba was included in the previous firmware. The change log posted has the fixes that were addressed in this firmware update.
I just downloaded and installed the DD-WRT v24SP2-MULTI (01/23/12) std firmware on my Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N. It works great! After changing the wireless channel width setting to 40MHz I am now able to get 300Mbs connection rates. Woo hoo!
I was hoping that this release would have support for OpenVPN in it. It's a little confusing since it is mentioned in the release change log and in the Help box in Services --> VPN, and more... in the Help box only displays additional information on the PPTP client/server configs. Maybe in the next release?
All in all a great router though. Since ditching my flakey Linksys 150N all 11 wireless devices in the house are getting better signal strenth and through put.
Any idea when the latest DD-WRT firmware will be available for WZR-HP-AG300H router?
Thanks,
Max360, check the OP.
With this new firmware on WHR-HP-G300N, the router often fails to connect via PPPoE. When connected, the connection suffers from massive packet loss. This doesn't happen with another router.
Is your MTU set to default 1500?

Very long time you working.Buffalo wzr-hp-g300nh firmware alpha version 17798 is added 2011-12-05.Now is 2012-04-08.Very please work faster.I waiting long time new stable firmware.
kernel v 3.2 being used in new build, thats good news indeed. will wait for wzr-hp-g300nh build and test it out when its released. heres hoping its released soon.
Very nervous this bug wifi dropouts http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Buffalo_WZR-HP-G300NH And need use script in this ddwrt link.Only with second script restart wifi correctly. This bug is on 14998 build.Maybe wifi bug fixed on new stable build?
The US version does not support the USB 3G and 4G sticks.
I am hoping that Jotin will add links or news about new firmware as posted for other BT routers in this message thread.
TIA
New dd-wrt firmware seems better. But I still have the following major issues.
1. If I set the wireless to mixed mode, and the security to WPA2/AES I can connect from n&g wireless devices for a very short time, maybe 10 to 30 minutes, then the router disconnects those devices and they cannot reconnect. Also any new wireless device refuses to connect. I tried WPA2/TKIP+AES also, and the same results. I do get better stability in the connections with WPA/TKIP, but then no connections are allowed in "n" mode, everything connects in "g" mode.
2. I have a client bridge connected, and port forwarding does not work to hosts on the bridge.
3. Static dhcp ip assignments to hosts on the client bridge do not work.
When my main router was a wrt-hp-g54 all of this was working fine.
1. is a super show stopper, 2 and 3, could be worked around my making the client bridge a client and putting the servers on the client on a different subnet, but that is more work that should be unnecessary.
Thanks,
Scott.
I love this router. I heard so much about buffalo and went out of the way to get a company that supports the ddwrt community. I don't mind that they don't release new features or versions of ddwrt but I am very upset with the wireless N on this router. I have a lot of local services I use from different devices and would like to be able to use the N speeds to pass 54 Mpbs on my wireless devices that communication to my local servers. I would like to see a fix on the wzr-hp-g300nh for the wireless problem with the radio. I would give money to have them fix it. I have my wireless set for wpa 1 only with aes only. I know I can't hit top N speeds but I can get over 100 Mpbs which is good enough for my internal needs over a 54 link. After an hour if I am lucky the wireless quits working. You get kicked off and no devices can connect untill you reboot. So I currently have to leave N off and use B/G mode and it runs perfectly with less bandwidth on the internal wireless devices. Please fix this problem.
Same issue here with mixed g/n. Will be testing B/G when I get home tonight.
I found a solution. I'll edit my post in a second. I did not want to run a community build trying to give Buffalo the benefit of the doubt that they will release an update. But I found a community build (not posted under router model on the site. Ill share a link in a second) Now I have wireless N fully running for a whole 24 hours with no problem. So as long as you are ok with flashing a community build it will solve all the problems and no more dealing with the router.
EDIT: ok so I found the link for the version I flashed. (ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2012/03-19-12-r18777/buffalo_wzr-hp-g300nh/)
The build was posted not long ago based on the date. I flashed it without any problems from the pro version of the buffalo firmware. I no longer care with buffalo plans to do in terms of a fix for the bug because this solved it for me.

Thanks a lot. You rock. I found the same firmware for the WHR HP G300N ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2012/03-19-12-r18777/buffalo_whr_hp_g300n/
I successfully flashed it. Hopefully no more wifi dropouts. I will post back if I have any issues. If you don't hear from me, I'm enjoying a bug free modem for once.
Glad to hear you also found the build for that model. I've been using this for almost 3 days now I think and have not had a single issue with the wireless. This should be the solution for everyone untill buffalo decideds to fix their software version. This should go into the solved threads. As the community has it solved.
Until the dd-wrt source tree produces a final instead of a beta, it shouldn't be put in the 'solved' threads. 18777 is pretty good build, but alot of users in the dd-wrt forum claim the they loose lan switch ability with this build, so its good in the wireless area, not so good in the lan area, and recent changes were made to the svn that fixes these issues, so more testing will have to ensue before it can go into the solved posts.
Hi all,
Just installed a WHR-HP-G300N for a customer of mine. It's working great except for one BIG problem. I could not get the unit to work with a static IP address on the WAN with the Buffalo DD-WRT firmware (v17135). So I installed community build 15778 and it's up and running, but I'd really like to use the custom Buffalo firmware. Any fix for this in the near future?
John
I'd like to ask the same question about the LAN switching.
could be lan driver problem.
Near the same bug with wireless with 450h.... But no community builds available (it's accept encrypted firmware only).
The one thing i mention - wireless drop very fast for Intel cards, and more stable with Atheros/Broadcom.
Rollback to initial DD-WRT release.
I have a WBMR-HP-G300H router and i am really interested in using ddwrt BUT i am more interested in how i should backup my original firmware.
Buffalo dosen't released any new or stock firmware, so where can i find a backup image ?
Hi,
Just upgraded a Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N to v18289 firmware. Seems to have fixed the no WAN static IP problem. Staic IP on the WAN side is now fine. Did notice one bug so far. Under STATUS, if I select WAN to view the graph of the month to month WAN activity, the chart is superimposed on top of the data information. Not good.
Still have other features to test.
John
could be a web browser issue, which browser do you use?
If you want to go back I think you can just reflash using the newest image provided on the buffalo support site.
Will we ever have an update for WZR-HP-AG300H?
if buffalo would had provided it... i wrote the following

newer build 19152 is out now for some of these routers. may be worth trying if your having issues with older builds.
Is it possible to make a backup of the original firmware ? How !?!?! Doea anybody of you have it?
I have a wbmr-hp-g300h and I've already flashed it with dd-wrt but I didn't make any backup.
I phoned Buffalo (in Italy) and I've been told to extract the original firmware from a brand new router and reflash mine.
I'm going to put my hands on a stock firmware in the w.end but I don't know how to make the backup or to extract it !!!
Can anybody help me ?
Please !!!
seriously if you dont know what your doing stick to the user friendly firmware if you even have to ask a question such as the one you posted then its more than obvious that your clueless and user friendly firmware is as far as you should be going.
slybunda wrote:newer build 19152 is out now for some of these routers. may be worth trying if your having issues with older builds.
You mean a branded Buffalo one? Or generic ddwrt builds?
ehm, well i am an electronic engineer so actually i know very well what we are speaking about as i develop firmwares too.
the point is that BUffalo doesn't released any firmware for my router, and it is not possible to backup it using the router web interface.
even if i can try to open it and look for a ttl or jtag connector on the circuit board and try to backup the nand flash content, i don't want to open it, or at least not now.without documentation it may be unsafe to do this operation.
but i am more interested in speaking about another question related to this one.
suppose that we obtain from an unofficial flash dumb or from buffalo, the binary file of the original firmware. Are you sure that we will able to flash back it through the unofficial DDWRT firmare IF IT IS ENCRYPTED ?
if the original firmware is encrypted and the key is built in it, we will never be able to restore the official over an unofficial one. the only solution is to crack the key.... so ... withdraw
The original firmware is encrypted so you are correct, you will not be able to restore it.
new to DD-WRT
Just updated my WZR-HP-G450H, with xxxx now I cannot connect to my ISP, (Etisalat).
Etisalat support staff said I need to set vpi =0, VCi 50, and encapsulation LLC
How do I do this on this version of cde wzrhpg450h-pro-v24sp2-18795-download

stick to user friendly firmware, its obvious you dont have a clue what your doing.
It works for us. It flashed from the GUI no problem. It works and plays well with the AirStation™ N300 Dual Band Wireless Ethernet Bridge WLAE-AG300N which we use to connect a desktop and a network printer. Thank you for the link. We could not find that build on the DD-WRT website without your link.
Hopefully you guys get around to the WZR-HP-AG300H and fix the radio issues.
And while at it, please train your tech support reps on how to answer questions for this firmware. Not a good sign when your reps don't know much about it and basically tell you to just return the router and get some other manufacturer's.
WHR-HP-G300N updated from 17198 to fix wifi connection problems which it does.
Only bug I've found so far in 19152 is if you manually set the Wifi channel it stops broadcasting. If set to auto it picks 6 which is what every other network around me in on, all other channels are free so some dumb logic going on!
Telnet to the box and dump the firmware on the command line, download the dump via SSH or move the file to www directory and download it via the browser.
Not sure if it kosher on this board to post how to do it, but it is possible.
I just installed the DD-WRT v24SP2-MULTI (04/27/12) std (build 19152) for my MHR-HP-G300N but in the wifi settings for channel width I only have 20Mhz?? if i switch back to the normal firmware I can set 20 or 40mhz. does anyone know how to resolve this? I really prefer the dd wrt firmware, but i need the 40mhz for my laptop to connect at full speed.
any advice please? I am pretty sure I have gone through all the settings and I can't find it!
You should be able to switch it to N-Only, then apply that, then the drop down for channel width should then include the HT40 setting in it.
nope, i've tried that and it doens't give me that option at all :(
but in the normal "user friendly" firmware, when i switch to 40mhz mode ony, does that put it into N mode only?
Hi everyone,
While I know OP said that updates have no ETA, I was wondering if the WZR-HP-G300NH v1 would be getting an update eventually or if this model is no longer supported?
im waiting for an update on the v1 hardware too. hopefully its still supported and they dont drop support for it. but they really need to speed things up and release a newer version with updated kernel for better stability.
I originally purchased the WZR HP-G300NH specifically for DD-WRT firmware and I too now await an update on the v1 hardware.
I have in the past been a fan of Buffalo products, but I am reluctant to buy any further products or recommend products from this Company given the apparent policy of stopping at Alpha firmware releases.
For me, the "user friendly" firmware has been fine, and the product is still under warranty.
But to be honest, my last two router purchases have been elsewhere (Linksys/Cisco & Asus) :(
It will great if buffalo can release for new firmware on WZR-HP-300NH v1 to support more free DDNS provider such as NO-IP.
As we know that TZO and DYNDNS are not free anymore.
They already have, in the buffalo dd-wrt firmware you can use custom DDNS servers. But what i don't think you understand is even if you sign up with NO-ip and get a free hostname(s), then set up a customized DDNS schedule in dd-wrt, you will still get an email from no-ip saying that your hostname will expire unless you go to their site and manually update it, because their update client and website do checks to see if you are using their update system or someone else's. And DDNS in dd-wrt will report the updating is fine, and it is, but no-ip doesn't see it that way and still wants you to come to their site and update so they can try to make a sale, so its not all together free either.
I really wish someone would start a class action lawsuit against Buffalo for mis-representing their routers as "DD-WRT" routers.
Their DD-WRT support is awful, their "high power" router's signal strength is awful when running DD-WRT, and any time someone has a problem, their answer is to switch to the "user friendly" firmware.
Even worse, one of their reps actually told me on the phone that I should return their router and get a better one from another manufacturer. I should have done that while it was still under the store's return period.
If you can't support DD-WRT and make it work properly, don't sell your routers as DD-WRT. Period.
Any lawyers in the forum? :-)
The links are 404's (invalid) anyone got any ideas?

It's an amazing webpage called google..... maybe you have heard of it?! :-/
Is there a reason why you are not using or want to use 19154?!
Oh look, i found it!
Is there a way that this firmware can work on Buffalo WHR HP 54g?
Thank you...
dd-wrt already works on a whr-hp-g54

that is not a DDWRT build or version, look here:

you an get all the builds for your router there.
