: LS-CHL / LS-VL / LS-WXL (1.41 firmware)
: davo April 16, 2011, 01:50:22 PM

Just a quick word to the update appears to be working (in relation to fixing the sleep functionality anyways) the addition of seperating the media server and iTunes server is also handy :-)

Good work!

Are you saying that finally there is a new version of the firmware for the LS-CHL that fixes the 'Never wake up after sleeping' fault?

If so, could you point me at the download location - it's not in the LS-CHL European download section.

It will probably be available to download in Europe later in the week.

Ok - Thanks for the update.

Been waiting since November and am getting a little "anxious" . :)

Confirmed the "Sleeping and Waking Up" works!

Media Server is now separated into 3 category: General, iTunes and Squeeze Box which is good

Can firmware 1.41 be opened the same way as 1.40?
: Re: LS-CHL / LS-VL / LS-WXL (1.41 firmware)
: davo April 20, 2011, 08:06:38 AM
What exactly do you mean by "open"?
: Re: LS-CHL / LS-VL / LS-WXL (1.41 firmware)
: davo April 20, 2011, 08:09:41 AM
Just download the firmware, unzip, deactivate your anti virus and firewall software. Run the .exe file on a LAN (cable) connect to the same router as the linkstation (don't do it over a wireless connection)

The update should take no more than 15mins ?

Hello,

With 1.41 firmware, I can't access MediaServer settings !!!

Is it the same problem for you ?

: Re: LS-CHL / LS-VL / LS-WXL (1.41 firmware)
: davo April 20, 2011, 08:35:17 AM
Initially I had the same issue. I guess your using FF, try accessing it in IE
: Re: LS-CHL / LS-VL / LS-WXL (1.41 firmware)

Actually, I can access MediaServer settings but only with IE9...

No way with my old IE6, with Firefox 4 or Chrome !!!

Can someone try and say me if it's the same for him ?

Thanks.

Clear the cache and cookies on the other browsers.

I've already tried that. It's not the problem.

Minor inconvenience as far as I'm concerned. Once I have a way of accessing it then I don't mind!

So what is the official solution as IE9 is not available to me ??

: Jotin April 21, 2011, 04:04:35 PM

Why is IE9 not available to you?

Initially I had the same issue with the media server.  A quick clear out of Chrome's cache did the trick for me.

: davo April 21, 2011, 04:08:47 PM

Correction working fine in Firefox 3.6.16 and 4.0. Also in Internet Explorer 8.0.7

Windows XP doesn't have IE9 and I run Firefox portable on all my machines

Edit - a clear cache / restart brings the media tab back into view

3 months waiting for new firmware and now I learn that SqueezeCenter was removed from 1.41 for LS-CHL.

Why the Change Log does not indicate this change ?

Do we need to do the work of engineers here ?

Another example of the carelessness of Buffalo.

: MisterM April 29, 2011, 10:07:32 AM

Agreed, this is so rubbish. What's the point of having release notes that are so specific on other items but don't mention that Squeezebox isn't for the LS-CHL. The only reason I've spent the last hour wasting my time on this is that the release notes say " - Add Squeezebox Server" with no specific model variations listed. Very annoying to wait so long for an update and then not have included the feature that is the single reason I downloaded it.

Maybe in another 6 months? Next time I won't believe it until I see it on screen.

Hi After installed 1.41 i was disappointed and wanted to go back to version 1.37

which bricked my LS-CH500L (6 red lights). It’s possible to go back to 1.37

after previous installed 1.41?

Have you tried this possibility or only I have this problem?

The firmware update seems to have broken my Bittorrent client. Torrents never download, and yes, I have checked and rechecked the settings on all my hardware (which has not been touched for literally months anyhow), and of the Bittorrent client itself.

I see this message in the log every time I add a torrent:

[09:11:27] JS error: [778] Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property '262' of null

: tattoovampire May 01, 2011, 10:30:23 AM

Well, resetting the device to factory defaults fixed the problem. PITA redoing my all my custom settings, though.

I'm experiencing the same issue with my bittorrent client. A fix aside from resetting to defaults would be nice.

: davo October 23, 2011, 04:58:57 PM

And you can't reset it because?

Hi all,

I too had this same issue (i.e - JS error: [778] Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property '262' of null) for my bittorrent (where my torrents refused to start!!)and I managed to solve it by just restarting the buffaloNAS. It's now up and working again. :)

Sometimes the solution is easier than we think :) hope this helps!

Yep! A reboot of the buffalo worked for me, confirmed simple solution works :) Yay no factory reset.
