cannot connect to WZR-HP-AG300H

I am connecting my WZR-HP-AG300H via Ethernet to a TP Link router which is connected to by cable modem.

The PC connects to the internet no problem when I plug it straight into the Ethernet port of the TP Link, but when I plug the WZR-HP-AG300H in it fails to connect to the internet. I have tried manually setting the IP address to the 192.168.11 subnet but it doest help.

 

Please help.

Did you power-cycle the cable-modem between connection attempts?  Most cable-modems bind themselves to the first MAC address they see on the LAN side and won't provide an IP address to any  other NIC.

Yes I did. I cannot even connect to the device directly via Ethernet....

I have a WZR-HP-AG300H with DD-WRT v24SP2-MULTI (06/03/12) std(SVN revision 19154) , downloaded from BuffaloTech.
