shared folders have disappeared
« on: September 19, 2010, 11:20:03 AM »

Hi,

My Linkstation DH500GL was configured with half a dozen shared folders with various levels of access. These were then mapped to drives on my PC.

A few weeks ago, the mapped drives became unreachable.

I've been going through this forum today, and following the advice.

First I installed NAS Navigator, and it showed that the linkstation was in EM mode.

I downloaded the firmware zip, and ran that, so the linkstation is now on version 2.10.

I can now access the original 'info' and 'share' folders, but all the others have disappeared.

I've run a disk check, and that went ok. The drive is about 92% full, so I don't think the files in those folders have been deleted.

I'm now stuck, is there anything else I can try?

Thanks in advance

davo

receate the shares using the exact same name and attributes. If this is done correctly then you will get your data back.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
Having network issues? Drop me an email: info@interwebnetworks.com and we will get it fixed!

Thanks Davo! I'll give this a try tonight after work.

I don't suppose there's a way to know exactly how the shares were set up? I've only got the mapped drive names to go on, as the rest was set up several years ago.
