Hi,
We had a brief power outage last night and my Terastation Live (HS-DHTGL0E2) is showing the E14 error. I am following the advise of the forums and trying to force flash the device in an attempt to fix.
I downloaded hs-dhtgl-up_214_102 and I am getting the following error when running the updater:
HS-DHTGL not found.
The exact model is: HS-DH0.0TGL\R5.
I have lots of valuable data that I can't lose. Please advise.
You should try the TFTP boot loader, this was designed to fix a e14 error.
Which one of these should I use for my Live?
11/17/2008 03:10PM 7,841,774 TFTP Boot Recovery-LS Pro DUO.exe
01/07/2008 12:00AM 3,304,281 TFTP Boot Recovery-LS_EZ-1.03.exe
01/07/2008 12:00AM 6,680,134 TFTP Boot Recovery-LS_Live-2.10.exe
01/07/2008 12:00AM 6,671,197 TFTP Boot Recovery-LS_Pro-1.11.exe
01/07/2008 12:00AM 7,450,096 TFTP Boot Recovery-TS_Live-2.13.exe
01/07/2008 12:00AM 7,284,355 TFTP Boot Recovery-TS_ProII-1.20.exe
I tried the TS_Live-2.13. I followed the instructions but can't the software can't detect my PC when I change the IP address. I even plugged the Live directly into my PC. I'm running Vista...do I somehow need to make my PC run as a server? does it matter what I put in for the subnet and the default gateway? No matter what I do, i can't establish a connection between my PC and the Live after I change the IP address.
Please advise,
Mickey
Use 01/07/2008 12:00AM 7,450,096 TFTP Boot Recovery-TS_Live-2.13.exe
You IP address has to be 192.168.11.1, subnet mask has to be 255.255.255.0
the rest does not matter leave it blank.
hold in the reset button on the TS (open the door its under the upper left hand side)
Hi Paul,
I appreciate your responsiveness. I still can't get it to work. Below is what I have done:
1. Set my PC IP address to 192.168.11.1 and subnet mask to 255.255.255.0. Verified it by going running ipconfig from the cmd prompt.
2. Plugged the Cat-5 network cable from my PC directly into the Terastation.
3. Disable antivirus and firewall
4. Opened TFTP Boot.exe
5. Booted the Terastation into EM mode.
6. Nothing further happens with the TFTP software.
The cmd window just stays at "accepting requests" and doesn't go further than that even after sitting there for several minutes.
The PC detects the Terastation because I can ping it and log into the web interface for managing the device.
Below is the text from the TFTP window:

Is there something different I need to do given I'm running Vista?
Vista shouldn't matter, however you can always try another machine it wont hurt.
also try rebooting the TeraStation, (with out EM mode).
