I receive my buffalo since one week now and i can use it since 5 days...
When i receive it i erase all files on it (a mistake). And now, i can't access to it. When i log on the web page he says "Currently a Format or Disk Check is being carried out. During this time the LinkStation settings can not be changed. Also the file share service will not be available". First i leave it 2 days like this andthen i shutdown it.
I upgrade the firmware to 1.07 i try so start with EM but nothing always this "Currently a Format or Disk Check is being carried out. During this time the LinkStation settings can not be changed. Also the file share service will not be available".
But the strange thing it's when i plug ŕ usb disk to my linkstation, i can access to my usb storage, the english folder where i can get the manual but i can't acces to share files ???
so someone can help me ?
My Linkstation live 500go LS-CHL F/W 1.07, i'm running vista

The Disk Erase option under Disk Management can take several days... It took 5 for ours. This is because it is overwriting EVERY sector with ones or zeros, and it does it 4 times over. This is a method of secure deletion.
Disk Format will merely format the drive's filesystem again, without overwriting every sector. It can take just a few hours.

and i rebuild partition table, delete user-config, force update.
i erase all and it's work now
