DD-WRT WDS not working
« on: November 21, 2012, 06:15:18 PM »

Trying to set up a wireless bridge (use the buffalo as an extender).

The Primary router is a ¨Belkin F5D82235-4 v2000¨

The Buffalo I just got is a WZR-300HP Firmware: DD-WRT v24SP2-MULTI (07/09/12)

I was following this guide: http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Wireless/FAQ-3-of-5-Setting-up-WDS-on-Buffalo-DDWRT-router/td-p/100337

...and it just doesn't take. My laptop doesn't discover any of the SSIDs. My phone sees both the physical and virtual SSID (from the settings I put on the buffalo). It "saves" the network, then tries to connect, then disconnects. Then repeats over and over. SO yeah. My thought is because the chipsets are different. Haven't been able to figure out exactly what the chipset is on the buffalo. The belkin is a broadcom. Anyone know what the chipset of the WZR-300HP is?

The buffalo uses an atheros chipset. If your setting up a WDS bridge between 2 DDWRT router the chipset would need to be the same.

"WDS between different chip vendors (atheros, broadcom, ralink) will not work most of the time since it's INCOMPATIBLE and no we will NOT fix it"

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
Having network issues? Drop me an email: info@interwebnetworks.com and we will get it fixed!
