I'm not very happy with this at all. I purchased the WZR-1750DHP because, according to the dd-wrt website, it could be flashed with dd-wrt firmware (it was the final deal clincher for me). When I started up the router, it immediately asked me if I wanted to upgrade, which I did. It was only since then that I noticed this nonsense about not being able to use dd-wrt ever again (or words to that effect). I've never come across this situation before and I would either not have upgraded the Buffalo firmware if I had known this, or more probably, I wouldn't have purchased the router in the first place. This is totally unacceptable to put customers in this situation. If they can't provide a fix, I shall never purchase one of their products again. I feel as though I have been tricked.
