access denied for backup folders
« on: February 28, 2011, 04:02:36 AM »

I run Vista 64-bit.  I have a linkstation pro duo LS-W2.0TGL/R1.

We have 5 computers backing up nightly to shared folders for each one.

I.e.

we have folder levels user1/data, user1/computer1...

user2/data, user2/computer2 etc.

ONLY the computer1, computer 2 folders get access denied when using windows explorer.  and the same with the nightly backups.

It seems the backups worked once to create the folders then stop  after that,

If it means anything, I have web access set up 'webuser' and this user CAN access all folders.

I need some security so that user1 cannot access user 2, etc.

I would restore the unit's interface so that all the permissions are reset. After that, see if the users can get to all the folders
