Unable to Update Firmware on a LS-XHL
« on: October 23, 2011, 04:19:27 PM »

Hi Guys

I have a Linkstation LS-XHL593? 2.0TB.  The current firmware is 1.24, (DTCP-IP:1.22-20100113).  I am attempting to update the firmware to ?1.54 so I can use the Time Machine functionality.  I have downloaded the firmware update, and when I select the 'update' option, i get a message saying  "Alert: There are no Tera/LinkStations that require an update.?", however I can see the drive inside the finder window.  I am using a Macbook Air on Lion and therefore am attempting to do this via Wifi as i do not have a LAN connection.

Any help is appreciated

Make a LAN connection and disabled your firewall then try it.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
Having network issues? Drop me an email: info@interwebnetworks.com and we will get it fixed!

Do you have to do the update over a LAN?  My Macbook Air does not have a LAN connection (unless i buy the seperate USB - LAN adapter), which i was hoping to avoid.
