TS-WX2.0TL/R1 - No Init File At HDD 0
« on: December 22, 2012, 07:04:08 AM »

I have a Terastation Duo with two drives running in RAID1 mode. I've had the unit for a few years now and it's always run without a problem until I had a mains power spike a couple of weeks ago. When the spike happened the Terstation immediately rebooted but from that point on will no longer give me access to the data stored on the unit.

I get the following series of messages on the unit's display:
No Init file At HDD 0
RAID ERROR E13 Array1 Error
OperationMode I12 DEGRADE MODE
HD1 Error E23 HD1 Is Faulty
HD Unknown

All but the first message are displayed on a red background

I've tried booting the unit in EM Mode and I could briefly browse to the folder shares from within Windows Explorer on my PC and see my data but after a minute or so that stopped and I was reverted back to "network path not found" messages. I can ping the IP address of the Terastation but I can't telnet to it. The NAS Navigator will identify the details of the unit; Host Name, Workgroup, IP address etc but now states that it's "Unknown Series". The web management console will give me a Buffalo logo but not the admin login box.

Can anyone give me any suggestions about how to go about restoring access to the unit without losing any of the data on it?
