Hi,
I have a Buffalo Mini 1TB and am having problems writing to one share locally.
The share is called 'Library' and the login that I'm using (Jim) has permission read/write to the share and web-access is enabled.
I can upload to the share through buffalonas, however I cannot do this locally. Can anyone help?
Thanks
Jim
You must also set it up in the WEB menu to use inherited folder permissions to access it from the Web side.
Thanks!
Dean
OK, all the shares have been disconnected then the restricted ones first - doesn't make a difference!
The web settings are shown in the screenshot below:
It says 'Use inherited folder permissions' which works for the other restricted shares that can be accessed from buffalonas.
Any other ideas?
Jim
Strangely, if I give the admin account priviledges to read and write to the share 'Library' then disconnect from the share and reconnect and login using the admin account I can read/write to the directory - despite the account 'Jim' having the same priviledges - any ideas?
Jim
Problem solved, the user 'Jim' was in the a group that had only read priviledges - since group priviledges take priority over individual users - Jim couldn't write to the share.
Take Jim out of the read only group and no problems!
Thanks to all who helped - my stupidity!
Jim
