: Airstation G54 - Security help
: pereira October 22, 2008, 01:44:04 PM

When I bought and installed my router, there was not many people around using wireless connections and so a WEP key seemed quite secured.

However, I've been reading that the WEP option is not anymore the most secured.

Can someone help me with an expertised councelling on this issue? Many thanks

I would set up a TKIP encryption.  Just make the preshared key longer then 8 characters.

Make a direct connection from the router to your PC, open your browers => 192.168.11.1 => username : root no password => Wireless Encryption => TKIP => Enter a password between 8 -63 characters long => Apply => Setup => Wait 1 minute. Done :D

I would not recommend that you use WEP, it is an old encryption method that is easily cracked now a days

Hope this helps you
