LS-CHL 1tb Live attempts boot but after 6 secs fan stops and it tries again. Blue lights flash

Hi,

Im trying to get my Linkstation Live 1tb (LS-CHL) to boot.  All that happens is as follows:

10. Turn Power On

20. Blue light flashes for 5 secs (about 20 flashes)

30. Fan make boot noise for those 5 secs

40. Unit goes off and powers back on

50. Goto 20 (unit tries again and again and again)

 

The unit is about 9 months old but Id like to recover some data off first.

 

Its not visible on navigator

 

I get no red lights.

Ive also attempted to put NAS into EM mode but as 6 seconds went by, the unit powered off again.

 

As the unit is powered on, my Ethernet port tries to connect but when the power goes off it reports that a network cable is unplugged.

 

Please can you help?

It sounds like that unit will have to be replace. If it cant stay on long enough then there is nothing that can be done to fix it. it seems like you have a physical failure with the box.
