Linkstation LS-WXL I14 Error
« on: June 30, 2016, 09:05:57 AM »
Hi,

We have a Linkstation Ls-wxl with an I14 red light error. We had just replaced one of the hard drives as it was showing an error on the web interface. The new drive we put in is still saying error. When you look at the lnkstation in Nas navigator it says Error : E14: Raid Array 1 cannot be mounted and Status: I12: The Raid array is in degraded mode.

We are a bit lost at the moment and any help would be much appreciated

Gavin

You had a disk failure and had probably left the unit in RAID0 by the sounds of it, do you have a backup?

No there is no backup of it. Do we need both drives working to have all the data?

Depends, what RAID mode had you set on the unit or did you just leave it as default?

We are looking at this for a customer. They set it up originally. I'm assuming they left it as default. Under Raid array now it has Raid 0

Yeah if its RAID0 you will need 2 disks, but if one of the disks has a physical fault it will not be recoverable.

So is my only option to bring it to a data recovery centre?

Could there me something wrong with the Linkstation unit itself? We put in a brand new hard drive in to the 1st slot and it still shows an error against the hard drive

Thats normal until it is formatted on the admin page or rebuilt into an existing array.

When I put the old hard drive back in, the linkstation error red light flashes six times and I can't get into it at all. What does this mean?
