That's typical, and overall is pretty awful. Suggests the router is dropping packets left and right. Also, my router becomes unresponsive to clients every few days, requiring a reboot, which is becoming a major pain. I first reported this issue in
this thread, and later
in another.
I had Buffalo router that ran DD-WRT public before, and it worked great. This router is pathetic as a mainstream commercial product. I shouldn't have to trouble-shoot/get so techy with my home wifi router. I'm at my wit's end, about to go grab a Linksys, but giving this one more shot.
Buffalo, please help me get my router to perform acceptably!!
For the third record, here's what I'm working with:
- WHR-HP-G300N Nfiniti
- Firmware DD-WRT v24SP2-EU-US (08/19/10) std (pro stock)
- Comcast cable Chicago
- Mac OS X Snow Leopard
- Typically 2-5 clients on the LAN
