No http access on linkstation pro duo

Hi,

I usually find my ways through existing thread and sort things out myself but this time, I am stuck!

 

my linkstation pro duo has been working fine for years. Today, I lost my samba shares. It happened before after raid error so I tried to access web interface... No luck...I check network connection issues so I found out that I can ping the NAS successfully. No LED flashing, both power and ethernet LEDs green.

 

of course, my life is on that raid server, so before organizing data retrieval, I'd rather simply make the unit work!

 

I do apologize if the problem has already been discussed, but I have not found anything useful so far!

if you can only ping it but have no samba or http access then it might just be in EM mode. Download and use the Nas Navigator software to determine this and if so then reinstall the firmware.

Thanks for this suggestion, I do not know about this EM mode, as for Nas Navigator, I guess I will need to use a windows machine. My main PC is running Linux only! I'll start investigating and keep the forum members posted!

well you should be able to check your routers DHCP client list and see what the name of the Linkstation is, if it contains the letters "EM" then you know thats the problem.

use an old windows laptop and installed Nas Nav'. It confirms EM mode! thanks a lot! I read that only a "reflash" of firmware can get me out of EM mode... could you confirm this?

and as DHCP is concern, my LS is not using it so... cannot "see" it on listed Attached devices clients of DHCP server on router! ... getting back here soon... I am downloading factory firmware and firmware uploader...

It seems that bad disk connection messed up the raid array and therefore switch to EM mode.... Firmware refreshed... raid reconstructing as I write... Thank you very much for your expertise.
