I just inherited a used WZR-1750DHP and I would like to install DD-WRT on it. The System Information page says the version number is 2.13. (I would assume that's the firmware version). I downloaded the Buffalo DD-WRT firmware image (wzr1750dhpd-v24sp2-23709c.zip) but when I upload the .bin file the router simply says "invalid firmware".
Any hints on how to install the DD-WRT image?

Yes go to http://dd-wrt.com/site/support/other-downloads?path=others%2Feko%2FBrainSlayer-V24-preSP2%2F2013%2F07-24-2013-r22118%2Fbuffalo_wzr-1750dhp%2F (http://dd-wrt.com/site/support/other-downloads?path=others%2Feko%2FBrainSlayer-V24-preSP2%2F2013%2F07-24-2013-r22118%2Fbuffalo_wzr-1750dhp%2F)
install the factory-to-dd-wrt.bin first then file buffalo-wzr-1750dhp-webflash.bin
or just read through http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=176310 (http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=176310) this is v25697 not the 23709 you were using but direction should work the same

Thanks for the quick reply. Just a couple of follow-up questions.
1. I had read about BrainSlayer's builds before. Do I stick with the 7/24/2013 version you listed in your post or do I go with a newer version?
Also, if I'm installing the open source DD-WRT, what would be the advantages / disadavantages of moving to Buffalo's DD-WRT firmware?

Update: I was able to install the stock DD-WRT image without any problems just by uploading it via the GUI. It is working well. I'll post more as I go along.
