Our "TS-HTGL/R5 F/W 1.22" (firmware version 1.22) is working, and accessible, and we would like to do a firmware upgrade.
Following the directions of: FAQ (2 of 5): Force Firmware update, asks for a password.
The correct password is entered. It is not accepted.
A hard reset was done, which results in a change of ip address and change of password to "password", followed by an attempt to force the update. Again it asks for a password.
The correct password (I.E. "password") is entered. It is not accepted.
Is there a firmware update process that works with version 1.22?
Thanks.
Try leaving the password blank. Also which version are you trying to upgrade to? Try booting the unit into EM mode (hold down the init button as you turn the unit on) and then try it again.
After it boots try and reset the unit by holding the reset button for 10 seconds. That should hopefully reset the admin password back to password.
During the force firmware go to the debug option and try delete user config. If that fails then your best bet to get back to the data would be to send the unit to Drivesavers.com. There is really nothing left that we can do to try and force the firmware. If your unit is within warranty we can send you another unit and you can swap the drives into that unit. Once you do that you flash the firmware and you should be able to access the data.
