Debian on TS-XL - Stuck at partitioning
« on: January 12, 2021, 04:14:35 AM »
Hi

Like many of you, I'm trying to breathe new life into an old TeraStation.

I'm going through the Installer process via SSH, but I can't get any further after I've set the /boot, / and /home.
I watched the video from Novaspirit Tech, but he's only using 1 disk. My TS-XL has 4.

I've tried to follow a link provided by 1000001101000 to the SoftwareRaidRoot (https://wiki.debian.org/DebianInstaller/SoftwareRaidRoot) but don't really understand it, tbh, and how it relates to my setup and the step that I am at.

I keep getting a screen that says:

Code: [Select]
The attempt to mount a file system with type swap in SCSI1 (0,0,0),  │
│ partition #5 (sda) at none failed.                                   │
    │                                                                      │
│ You may resume partitioning from the partitioning menu.              │
    │                                                                      │
│ Do you want to resume partitioning?

Can I ask for a little help please getting past the partitioning stage?
Thanks.

Good to hear from you!

I can think of a few reasons why this might be happening, all of which depend on how your disks/partitions are laid out. I believe the best way to move forward would be for you to open an issue on my github page and post a screen shot of the installer partitioning menu so i can take a look at it.

Talk to you soon!
