Iam thinking my new nas drive is dead, selected erase drive, manual says it can take several hours to do, understandable due to the size, however its been doing it for a week now, this surely can not be right. Can access it via typing in the the ip address, but just says its doing a format/disc check, with ip address details etc but no size of the hard drive details are shown.
Any thoughts/ideas before I email buffalo.

I would do a hard reset to the unit (power cycle it)
verify you are running the latest firmware then try it again.

Thanks for reply, yep done all that, loaded latest firmware on, still no joy, have requested warranty return. Keeps going into em mode. Not a good start after only having it month.
