: Redundant back ups
: selkov September 27, 2019, 09:42:07 PM
I have two ls421d. One is at the office and one is at home. Is there some way I can back up the office unit to the home unit over the internet on a weekly schedule? And if so please explain how i set it up.

Thanks.

If you install Debian on both devices you could do it using rsync over ssh following something like this:
https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-copy-files-with-rsync-over-ssh

glancing at the manual it mentions connecting both networks via a VPN so the devices can connect to each other as if they are on the same network.

You can use the built in backup to copy files to a remote location. You either need to set up a vpn or configure a port forwarding on the target location. Ports I believe were 22939 and 8873 TCP for encrypted backup. If you check the list of Link and Terastation in backup you should be able to add a off-subnet device.
