You need to go onto your netgear router and forward port 9000 to 192.168.1.10 for TCP.
Once this is done correctly you will have access from a remote connection.
Under Port Forwarding/Port Triggering I added a Custom Service to Port Forwarding
Service Name: LinkStation
Start port: 9000
End Port: 9000
Service Type: TCP (Not TCP/UDP or UDP)
Server IP Address: 192.168.1.10
Tested from http://canyouseeme.org/ to the external IP address gathered by the web site to port 9000
Received the following reply: Error: I could not see your service on 6X.61.176.235 on port (9000)
Could I be missing something else?
Yes, if canyouseeme.org is saying there is an error then you have not step up the port forwarding correctly or it is not working on the router.
Could there be a routing issue from external to internal? Do I need to set anything else up like a 3rd party DNS? Is there another port I could check on my computer to see if any ports work coming in?
