Hi,
Was working on a neighbor's WZR-G300N today (latest firmware 1.46) and the advanced config page showed only "G" and the only mention of "N" that was obvious was the 802.11n Protection option. Looking at the manual, it shows that I should have seen an option under the Advanced Setting/Basic/802.11G to set Auto for Wireless mode or choose B/G/or N. RTFM is always a great idea but I just kept seeing the 802.11G header on the page and must have missed the drop-down box for "Auto". Is that the case, and when I go back over there and change that setting to Auto then the page header will be something more meaningful?
I just want to make sure they're getting the best speed out of the router, and of course WPA2 for security if that's supported. I did change it from WEP to WPA/AES but don't think I saw WPA2.Strangely, when I look for the string "WPA" or WPA2 in the User Guide, I don't find it.
Helpful hints appreciated. Looking at the firmware dates, I'm guessing that the WZR-G300N is EOL'ed and that's perhaps why WPA2 isn't supported. Too bad.
Thanks for any guidance on the issues I raised.
Rob
