The new 20025 build is having some issues with Windows 7 clients unable to connect on the Samba share? is there a solution to this? has there anyone experienced this?
Windows XP clients could access the SAMBA NAS share but not on windows 7
same problem
At least I know it's not just me
This is useless I could not even rollback anymore to the previous firmware Buffalo please fix ASAP
May be this is worth a shot?
1) Run: gpedit.msc
2) Find:
Console Root -> Local Computer Policy -> Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> -> Security Settings -> Local Policies ->Security Options
When you're there change the following policies
3) Microsoft network client: Send unencrypted password to third-party SMB server: Switch it to "Enabled".
4) Network security: LAN Manager authentication level: Select the option: Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated

Just one question, Is DD-wrt a must for you if it isn`t try and install the user friendly FW
and follow the steps below
http://buffalo-sg.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/14645/kw/WZR%20samba/related/1
@Realborat
Thanks for this but did not work
As for the user friendly firmware this is not an option for me as the primary reason that I bought this router is because of the DDWRT feature
I found a temporary workaround
1. login into telnet/SSH to your router
2. stop smbd & nmbd service
3. edit the smbd.conf file & remove the "max protocol = SMB2" line
4. start the NMBD & SMBD service again
Caveat to this is that everytime you restart your router it goes back to the regular config and you have to do the steps again, I am not exactly sure on what is wrong with the router's new version but i have been using the SMB2 option on my other SAMBA server's & they work particularly fine.
AND PLEASE BUFFALO... FIX THIS ISSUE ASAP!!!!!!!
Dear realborat,
well i do wanna use the dd-wrt function.
i am used to it and i can config more than i have to :P
thanks ;)
greetings Fernando
Hi cgyap2
you can telnet and copy config smbd.conf file to your computer.
login to web interface, select custom configuration. Paste content of smbd.conf and remove maxprotocol. Save and apply.
no need to modified every time router boot.
@mercury838
I tried setting a custom config but authentication table fails thus resorted to this
I also have a problem with access to the Samba.
Put please Use Custom Configuration to mount usb.
thanks
i got exactly the same problem and I reset the router several times. the problem is easy to test. Please fix it!
this is my custom config. It is working ok with last firmware, but the write speed is around 3-5MB/s by wifi and 10MB/s by ethernet gigabit...a cake :(
