Hi All
I am new to the fourm i have been working on this for an hour or two now (probably because im worn out but i cant seem to fathem the following)
i have purchased a LS-CHL 1.0 TB Nas Drive
but when i go to the web admin console on the nas' ip it only has two options - not all the options as i think it should have (im looking how to use the bit torrent functions etc )
i am logging in using the admin username
please help
much appreciated
anyone help please ? i really want to know if the item is fault and i need to return it
Firmware ver. 1.07 is the latest available for that hardware revision. If you're looking for the additional features of bitTorrent, etc. you'll need to get a hardware revision that runs the 3.xx firmware. Generally, in the product description it will explain if the device has these features or not on the retailer page.
Hi Dustrega
Thanks very much for your response however on the Buffalo webpage it states that the item i have has
• Web Access - access your digital library from anywhere with PC, MAC or iPhone |
• In-Built Media Server connects to DLNA compatible digital entertainment devices |
• One touch transfer of media files from digital camera/camcorder with Direct Copy feature |
• In-Built BitTorrent Client |
• Support Apple Time Machine |
Again those are on the current devices that are running the 3.xx firmware. Unfortunately, the unit you have is running 1.xx which I am sad to say doesn't have all of the features listed with those revised devices.
thanks much appreciated one final question and thanks for the quick responses
the firmware can my device be moved onto this or is this for newer devices ?
best wishes
The 3.xx firmware is only for the V3 units (2 USB ports on the back)

The above information is COMPLETELY wrong (sorry AngelsAbyss and Dustrega)
He clearly says and has an LS-CHL Linkstation Live NOT A LINKSTATION PRO DUO.
OP, confirm you have tried accessing the web GUi in firefox and your current firmware version installed.
hi thanks for the response yes i have tried in firefox and also in chrome and IE
the firmware version is 1.07 on the buffalo
IE explorer 8 and firefox latest version (downloaded yesterday)
Whoops, I did misread that. Good call there davo.
EDIT: Though I am not completely wrong, there are two different firmware types on our US website which clearly indicate a hardware revision. 1.07 is the latest for the v1 devices which cannot be upgraded to 1.33 (which is for v2). So my previous argument stands unfortunately.
and how can i tell what version of nas i have ? thanks once again
Pretty simple, since you're running the 1.07 firmware which is the latest for v1 then that is what you have.
thank you very much ! thanks for all your time and help
Not a problem :)
