Hello,

some days ago, I bought a used Terrastation TS-1.0TGL/R5 without any HDD's on Ebay.

Based on my curiousness I started testing with a blank (no partitions) 500 GB Western Digital sata drive.

But the Terrastation always starts in the EM-Mode.

When I try to run the firmware updater (from the firmware 1.01.0.51 with AD) in debug-mode with the option "Ignore current version", Format completely" and "Clear user area"

The first message says:

"Firmware update from recovery mode."

The next one says:

"TS-TGL-EM's BOOT version is same as writing BOOT version (1.23). BOOT update is skipped."

Then it transfers and writes the firmware and restarts

Then the terrastation alerts that the HDD2,3,4 are missing...

"Restructuring RAID array is performed. Are you sure?"
I clicked on YES...

an then I got a message

"Faild format.: 0x100

Script: create_raid

Firmware update is canceled"

so I think, I have to create a new raid or something like that, to tell the Terrastation, that ther is only one drive.

But how can I do this in the EM-Mode without access to the webinterface or other types of control.

I will know, how to get working the Buffalo Terrastation, before I shutdown my productive engine.

Hope you can help me.

Best regards from Germany...

David
