WZR-HP-G300NH - 1.65 Invalid Firmware Message

Hi,

 

I tried to update my WZR-HP-G300NH Ver.1.60 (R6.20/B1.03) to the new 1.65 version while on the phone with a buffalo tech and i get a invalid firmware message?! I He said he'd pass my email along to a higher level tech who would get back to me within a day or two. But in the mean time, has anyone ran into the same issue? Im speechless.....wasn't this tested prior to releasing it?

Dunno, worked fine for me (the one on US site).

what country are you in and from which Buffalotech website did you download 1.65?

yes, it was tested for a long time - as many of the forum members will attest to - most wanted 1.65 some time ago.

Did you update your WZR0HP-G300NH from a wired or wireless computer? PM me your contact info and I'll have a level 3 tech contact you and fix this.

The 1.65 firmware is contained in a self-extracting file. Unzip the downloaded file, then run the extractor. It will create a folder on the desktop. Open the folder, and you'll see a ~20 MB file in there named "wzrhpg300nh-165". That file is the firmware update. Log into the Buffalo router from a HARDWIRED connection (DO NOT PERFORM THE UPDATE OVER WIRELESS, OR IT WILL BRICK THE UNIT). Go to Admin Config, then Update. Browse to the folder on the desktop, select the "wzrhpg300nh-165" file and click Update.

terracan, what is the name of the file you selected in the router's interface to perform the firmware update? Make sure you're using the "wzrhpg300nh-165" file, as per my previous instructions.

Just in case some users didn't aware...

 

The Firmware Update file you downloaded from Buffalo website is a compressed file name whatever.EXE

This is NOT the file you going to update with.

 

Click on this EXE file and it will decompress into other file, then you update your 300NH with that file.
