LS220D network at 100Mbps and not 1000Mbps
« on: April 21, 2022, 11:30:07 AM »
I've had a couple of LS220D NAS units for a few years and have just upgraded my switch to 1Gbps. The dataspec for the LS220D states taht it is capable of running at 1000Mpbs but the switch reports that it has autonegotiated at 100Mbps.
Is theer a way for force the NIC to run at 1000Mbps as per the datasheet?

The first thing I would try is switching/replacing the network cable or even switch port, typically there's a reason auto-negotiation chooses what it does. I assume you would know if your switch was manually set to 100M or something (not sure I've ever owned a switch that "smart").

You can typically disable auto-negotation with ethtool. I don't recall if the stock firmware has ethtool in it or not off hand, I think I used it there once but don't remember the circumstance.
