Will WLI-TX4-G54HP work with an Airport Extreme Router?

I have a newer Airport Extreme N Router, connecting 3 Macs on my home network, and I want to try to use the Airstation Ethernet Converter to connect an Xbox to the network.

The Airstation is running firmware version 2.50.

Is this possible? I spent some time trying to configure the Airstation, but was unable to get it to work. The Aiport Extreme is running WPA2 encryption, so I wasn't sure which one to choose on the Airstation setup. There is no WPA2 option, so I tried AES and TKIP, but neither seemed to work.

Let me state that I am not an IT person, and frankly, network stuff confuses me. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

You nee to update the firmware to 2.54 on the buffalo convertor and change the encryption the airport extreme is using to WPA. WPA2 will not work at all with this device.

Thanks Davo.

Isn't WPA less secure though?

Also, downloads lists version 2.53 as the latest version of firmware for this device.
